Creamy Garlic Dressing Recipe

Salad with Creamy Garlic Dressing

Every now and again, RK gets a hankerin’ for creamy garlic dressing. And what I like best is it’s pretty easy to make. So, if you have a salad that needs a bit of spicing up, this recipe will surely do the trick!

Ingredients for Creamy Garlic Dressing

  • 1 cup mayonnaise (we prefer an olive oil-based mayo)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 Tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-2 cloves crushed garlic
  • Blue cheese crumbles (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon horseradish (optional, but it adds a nice zing to the dressing!)

Directions

Using a wooden spoon or whisk, blend the mayonnaise and the sour cream together in a small bowl. Add the Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, and sugar.

Hold the garlic press over the bowl and crush the garlic cloves. I find that using this method, much more of the garlic flavor is released into the dressing than simply by chopping the garlic. Mix well and let the dressing rest for about 15-20 minutes.

Variations

For variations, try adding a couple of tablespoons of crumbled blue cheese. I also like to experiment with different types of vinegar – such as apple cider, champagne or balsamic – for different and unique flavors. A little horseradish will give your dressing some extra kick!
