Wisconsin is more than just America's Dairyland - it's also one of America's great vacation spots!  Traveling north, it may not be all that obvious if one simply stays on Interstate 90-94, but slowly and subtly, the expanses of corn and pasture give way to more and more pines as the rolling hills of the south begin to flatten in Central WI.  The more fertile soils of the south are replaced with poorer and more acidic sandy loams father north - soils that won't support much except cranberry bogs and conifers.  And somewhere past the middle of the state, something else becomes obvious: the number of lakes - and also the number of resorts and campgrounds skyrockets.  North of Eau Claire, as the northbound traffic thins, there are countless hundreds of lakes.  Each lake has numerous choices in terms of places to stay, endless activities of which to partake, and many opportunities for quality time with friends and families.  But don't take my word for it.  See for yourself.  Make sure you venture more than a stone's throw from the Interstate.  Make plans for a summer vacation in Wisconsin!
