Beautiful winter weather benefited the angler and their catching percentages.
Good ice and a well groomed lake attracted anglers and snowmobilers, many doing both.
Sharp reef drop-offs at depths between 30-40' provided good walleye action. The best fishing was early mornings, late afternoons or overcast days. Small jigs or glow colored ice fishing jigs, of your choice would work well with a minnow, or minnow head.
Follow up:
Some pike being taken in shallower waters, but the pike bite has slowed down. Crappie action still on the very quiet side, as the days lengthen and weather warms we expect that bite to improve.
The lake trail system has all been groomed and in good shape for all sports enthusiasts the land trails for snowmobilers and the land trails for cross country skiers are in great shape.
Hurry up we still have a few good weeks of winter activities ahead.
Look forward to seeing you soon....
Phil & Ellen Hart
