BIG GREEN LAKE UPDATE; With the cold weather for most this week it has made more ice on the lake. We now have 9 to 10 inches of good ice. The ice off the east end is real good. You do have to watch a very actice pressure crack that does run from the North end of the Inlet Rd. all the way down the lake just to the South of the Hiedel Bar and on to the west. The ice off Horner's Landing and to the east is also good. But to the west and by Sandstone Pt. you have to be very careful. There are pressure cracks and open water to the west of Sandstone Pt. which has broke back some. Hopfully we will get some cold quiet weather with no wind to freeze the whole lake up soon.
Follow up:
***FISHING REPORT; Lake Trout & Northerns are the best bite at this time. The Lake Trout are on a very good bite in 45 to 100 feet of water off the east end and off Horner's Landing. Jigs fished close to bottom have been best.
***NORTHERN Are coming off Dering's Landing and to the southeast shore. Tipups fished with med.size minnows best here. There was a very nice 21lb. Northern taken last week.
****WHITEBASS; Action best in the late pm off the southeast shore in 35 to 45 feet of water. Jigs fished in the schools have been working here.
****CISCO; There has been some good Cisco action by Sandstone Pt. area. Jigs fished in schools best here early am.
